The study will allow for a more precise understanding of the structure, evolution, and behavior of tourist accommodations in the municipality.
The City Council of La Vila Joiosa will promote the preparation of reports on the accommodation offer of the destination, with the aim of having more accurate information for municipal tourism planning and management.
The action is part of the Tourism Sustainability Plan in Destination “La Vila Joiosa. Diversification of the offer and sustainable tourism management” and is financed by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU funds, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
Mayor Marcos Zaragoza explained that “the reports will allow us to analyze the situation of the different types of tourist accommodation in the municipality in terms of occupancy, profitability, and territorial distribution.” The initiative will pay particular attention to Tourist Use Homes and tourist apartments, which “have a very significant presence within Villajoyosa’s accommodation offerings.”
The planned work will include mapping the accommodations offered in the destination, as well as analyzing variables such as the number of beds per accommodation, type, location, and occupancy rate. This information will allow for a more precise understanding of the profile and behavior of tourist demand.
The availability of this data will contribute to improving decision-making processes in tourism and will allow for more precise planning of municipal services, taking into account the impact of accommodation activity on the territory.
With this initiative, Villajoyosa reinforces its commitment to data-driven tourism management, aimed at better understanding the reality of the destination, anticipating needs and moving towards a more efficient, competitive and sustainable tourism model.
