In addition to the outdoor activities we can enjoy—whether by the sea or in the mountains—we’ll also find various facilities designed for playing our favorite sports.

These sports facilities serve as venues and training grounds for local clubs that achieve outstanding athletic results each year while also promoting grassroots sports. They are also responsible for organizing various national and international events that make La Vila Joiosa a leading sports destination.

Calsita Soccer Field
El Rugby La Vila, whose first team competes in the División de Honor, has its headquarters at the “El Pantano” facilities. In addition to training its extensive youth academy and teams in various age groups, this stadium also hosts the annual “Seven Costa Blanca” tournament and various international matches throughout the year.

Next to the rugby stadium is the “Maisa Lloret Sports Hall,” where you can play various indoor sports such as basketball, handball, and indoor soccer… and it also features a fronton court. Our local clubs for these sports train at this facility and win major titles every season. The area’s sports facilities are rounded out by the “El Pantà” Municipal Indoor Swimming Pool.

Skate Trick In addition, there are sports facilities, play areas, and multisport courts in the urban area, such as: “Marta Baldó Sports Center,” La Vila Joiosa Tennis Club, “Padel La Vila,” the José Lloret “Calsita” Sports Complex, and the “Nou Pla” soccer field.

It’s worth noting that La Vila Joiosa also has a long tradition of “Pilota Valenciana.” With its school and various teams competing in regional and provincial leagues, the “Club de Pilota La Vila” keeps our traditional sport alive. The street where “pilota” is traditionally played is Calle Alicante, in the “Poble Nou” neighborhood.
