Road to the Watchtower of l’Aguiló

This path gives access to the Aguiló tower, one of the best preserved, oldest and most important of the defense system against Berber corsair attacks created in the Kingdom of Valencia during the time of Philip II (16th century).

The monument has recently been restored and the access road has been improved and equipped with rest areas.

You will also find some panels that explain, in an entertaining, brief and clear way, the natural environment and the landscape, and especially the places related to coastal surveillance since the 17th century and to banditry in the 18th and 19th centuries.

From the top there are impressive views of the entire Marina Baixa region.
