La Vila Joiosa Auditorium Theater

This auditorium, which seats 820 people, is a modern and original building designed by architects José Mª Torres Nadal and Antonio Marquerie; it was selected for exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA) as one of the flagship projects of contemporary Spanish architecture.

The Teatre Auditori is the municipality’s cultural hub, offering a varied cultural program throughout the year, except in July and August. During these summer months, “art” moves to other venues. In fact, the “Teatre i Carrer” series takes place in August, filling the city’s streets and squares with theater and various multidisciplinary performances.
