“La Barbera” Contemporary Art Space

A space designed to bring contemporary art to the public in a heritage setting of great value.

The building is organized into two distinct areas: a covered hall, designed to host temporary contemporary art exhibitions, and a semi-open space that complements the exhibition route and serves as an entrance lobby.

Throughout the year, the Espai d'Art Contemporani hosts exhibitions of painting, sculpture, photography, illustration, and other artistic disciplines, with a program that is updated periodically. In addition, recitals, concerts, presentations, lectures, and small-scale performances are held from time to time, making it a meeting place where artistic creation and the cultural life of La Vila Joiosa intersect.

Its integration into the historic complex of the La Barbera dels Aragonés House Museum makes it possible to combine a visit to this historic site with a contemporary cultural experience, offering visitors an enriching and diverse experience.
