Olivera Grossa

The Olivera Grossa is one of Villajoyosa’s greatest natural and historical treasures. The tree stands out for its impressive size and the spectacular, sculptural shape of its trunk, which is full of cavities, curves, and twists shaped by the passage of centuries. Its trunk has a circumference of nearly 8.9 meters, while its canopy exceeds 11 meters in diameter and its height is around seven and a half meters.

In addition to its botanical value, the Olivera Grossa is an important symbol of the Mediterranean agricultural landscape and the area’s long tradition of olive cultivation. Its unique beauty and excellent state of preservation make it one of the most notable monumental trees in the province of Alicante.
