Censal Park

The Censal Park is one of the most iconic and heavily frequented public spaces in Villajoyosa. Located right in the heart of the city, it connects País Valencià Avenue with Playa Centro and the historic district, occupying part of the natural slope on which the city is built.

The park was originally opened in 1986 and has recently undergone a major comprehensive renovation aimed at improving accessibility, upgrading its infrastructure, and restoring its social, cultural, and recreational functions. Notable improvements include the creation of new accessible paths, recreational areas, and spaces designed for leisure and physical activity.

One of its most distinctive features is its mechanical ramps and accessible entrances, which facilitate pedestrian access between the city center, the historic district, and the beach. The park also features landscaped areas, benches, ornamental fountains, playgrounds for different age groups, and areas dedicated to wellness activities, calisthenics, and games.

The space also features an outdoor stage for cultural activities and events, thereby reinforcing its role as a gathering place for residents and visitors alike.

Thanks to its strategic location, its amenities, and its views of the waterfront, Parque Censal has established itself as one of the city’s premier urban spaces for strolling, relaxing, and connecting the city with the Mediterranean.
